Just to clarify

As I've been reading over some of my posts, I realize that many were written with my BYU friends in mind. Some might be confusing to my friends who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. I figured I would clear two of them up, and you can always ask me if anything else seems strange or unfamiliar.

First, in one of my posts I referred to a CTR ring. CTR stands for "choose the right". The concept of a CTR ring was originally intended for children to help them to remember to always make good choices. Now people of all ages will wear rings like these. Since the Church is in many parts of the world, different versions have been made for different languages (i.e. HLJ for Spanish "Haz lo justo").

Second, in my post "Greatest 26 years..." I talked about seeing my parents and wanting to run the opposite direction. Some people may wonder why somebody who hadn't seen their parents for 2 years would want to run away from them. It wasn't that I didn't want to see them. Mentally, I had equated seeing my parents with the end of my mission. I loved the work that I did in Guatemala and there was a part of me that didn't want to give that up. In my mind, seeing my family again would mean that my time as a missionary had come to an end. It was a day full of mixed emotions. I will add that being able to hug my family after 2 years away was a great feeling.

For other questions, feel free to email me. Also, more information regarding our beliefs can be found at www.mormon.org

so I just read the first line. But, fyi: the Church's official name has it thus: Latter-day Saints.

The upper case, no hyphen D (Latter Day) belongs to the RLDSers. I think the lower case plus hyphen is used to be even clearer about the distinction.
