And then mom came in
One Christmas my brothers and I were sitting around reminiscing about our childhood. There were several stories exchanged that evening but they all followed the same pattern.
"Remember how we [enter a favorite dangerous/destructive/excessively rowdy activity]"
"Oh yeah! And then mom came in..."
Thanks to my mom who "came in" on many occasions, all 3 boys made it to adulthood without any serious bodily harm and with minimal property damage.
My brother created the following at despair.com to thank my mom for her efforts. The 1, 2, 3 comes from how my mom used to count to 3 and lead us in "Thank you mommy" if we hadn't shown enough gratitude initially.
Craig and I have debated as to when this picture was taken. It was either April 1999 at a family gathering for general conference. Or October 1999 when I was a set apart missionary on my way into the MTC. I'd like to think it was the former because there is nothing quiet or dignified about your brother successfully pinning both you and your oldest brother at the same time. It's hard to know when it was for sure because we always do this when we get together...and then mom comes in (usually to take a picture).

The saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words" still holds true. I love it.
My mom had a hard time breaking-up my siblings and I fighting... it was my dad that put a stop to those things. All he had to do was walk into the room and we were perfect little angels again!
My poor mom and what she had to deal with. No wonder she threated to give us up for adoption once! Lol... it totally scared me to death and to this day my mom laughs about it and denies even saying it. Trust me, she said it. I remember.
lol, boys are boys after all... (I love the picture)
