Friendship

Sometimes little old ladies can surprise you.

Ms. N.: I've decided I'm going to stay here (she had been threatening to move out). It's just too convenient and I know the people here.

Shaun:
Yeah. I know you're friends with Ms. A.

Ms. N.:
We're not friends. We lived in the same apartment complex before we lived here. She's a stinkin' *@%#. I visit her everyday now. She's a very intelligent woman and she can be nice, but most of the time she's just a stinkin' *@%#.

It kind of takes me off guard when I hear a cute little grandma type talking like that. I'm still not really sure why she visits her everyday if that's the way she feels. Maybe poor company is better than no company.

Maybe people like that are less dangerous as "friends" than enemies?

she is old. Besides, we all love/hate our best friends, that is why they are our best friends. We know the best and worst in them. haven't you wanted to strangle someone you were really close to (chris or jordan--kidding)?

although i still wouldn't talk that way. i've never been one for swear words.

Old age gives you to liberty to be more yourself and edit yourself less....I feel that she's earned her right to say whatever comes to her mind. I admire that spunky attitude in seniors sometimes! (Doesn't mean I want to live with someone like that though) :) Yes, I agree with you that sometimes any company is better than no company at all!
