Following the prophet

President Hinckley counseled, "In revelation the Lord has mandated that this people get all the education they can. He has been very clear about this... And so I say to you young men, rise up and discipline yourself to take advantage of educational opportunities." (Gordon B. Hinckley, “Rise Up, O Men of God,” Ensign, Nov 2006, 59–61)

I was sitting next to my dad during that priesthood session of general conference. He leaned over to me and said, "My problem is not getting my kids to go to school. It's getting them to graduate."

Last week I had a meeting with the director of the Health Administration program at USC. They also offer a dual degree with the gerontology program. It will be crazy, but I think this is a better route than the MPA as it is more applicable to what I want to do. It will be a total of 36 units over the course of 2 semesters. Doesn't sound too bad until you realize that most students in the MHA program only take 12 units per semester. The director of the program seemed to think it was "doable" but added something about needing good time management skills. Shoot! I suppose that might involve me not blogging after midnight...or maybe even at all. Oh well. I guess I've been focusing on the getting all the education I can part. Now I'll have to focus on the part where we're counseled to discipline ourselves.

You should talk to Adam and Eresha who both went through the MHA program at USC. I think they really liked it. Good luck figuring out what to do!! Don't you love the quarter-life crisis??
