Help! What was I thinking?

About a month ago one of our students here at the retirement home moved on to bigger and better things. Not really thinking, I volunteered to take over her weekly arts and crafts class. I was obviously caught up in the moment and temporarily forgot that I am neither artsy nor crafty. So far I've only had to lead the class once and although it went surprisingly well, I'm concerned about coming up with new ideas ever week. So any suggestions for crafts to do that don't take longer than an hour or can at least be broken up into hour long segments?

Whenever I think of arts and crafts in a retirement home I can't help but think of that scene in Happy Gilmore.

Nursing Home Orderly (talking on the phone): Marty if you will quit yapping your trap for a second I could tell you. The price is $200 per quilt...

Orderly: Ok listen up everybody. Turn up your volumes. Announcement. I got good news, we're extending arts and crafts time by four hours today.

Elderly Woman: My fingers hurt.

Orderly: What's that?

Elderly Woman: My fingers hurt.

Orderly
: Oh, well, now your back's gonna hurt, 'cause you just pulled landscaping duty. Anybody else's fingers hurt?... I didn't think so.

So wrong. So very, very wrong.

My friend writes about craft projects you can do with kids at leapintoart.com. I'm sure some of them would be fun with adults too. Good luck!
